Fundraising & Social Responsibility

Oakridge College is involved with various organisations and local businesses to help raise funds for the school as well as other outside beneficiaries. Your support is appreciated.

Grade 11 Fundraising Initiative

While under lock down a group of our grade 11 learners have started raising funds for those who are less fortunate in our community.

Their idea is to purchase food vouchers and to distribute them to underprivileged communities that are in need of assistance.

One person who the learners have identified is a lady by name of Dudu who cooks for about 80 children in the Mgungundlovu community daily. These children are either raised by their grandparents or are from child-headed homes, and as such they have no income and no means to buy food. For most, this is their only meal for the day.

Dudu is one of those heroes of the pandemic who need our help at this time. If you are able to assist our learners with this fundraising initiative and social responsibility program, kindly donate into the bank account that has been set up.

Please also see the poster for more details.

Breadtags for Wheelchairs

This year Oakridge College will be participating in a social responsibility program called 'Breadtags for Wheelchairs'. The aim of the project is to collect breadtags and plastic lids from fizzy drinks, fruit juices, milk and other similar products which will then be recycled, in return a wheelchair will be purchased for someone in need. Please assist us in this collection - simply hand the breadtags and plastic lids in or drop them off at our school reception.
